Labiaplasty

Excess tissue around the labia minora may interfere with exercise or intercourse. It can also call unwanted attention to this area when wearing tight fitting clothes such as a bathing suit, leggings or jeans. A labiaplasty is a procedure done to reduce the tissues around the vagina, most often the inner fold called the labia minora. Surgery removes the excess tissue while preserving enough to keep the vaginal entry lubricated. A labiaplasty can be done in the office or at the out-patient surgery center. A great deal of swelling occurs after the procedure. It is very important to avoid exercise and long periods of standing the first 2 weeks.
