Clinical studies have shown that It improves scars, regenerates collagen growth, reduces pores and can help the appearance of stretch marks. Dr. Morgan uses the SkinPen device manufactured by Bellus Medical. It is the only FDA approved microneedling device in the United States.

The treatment is done in the office by Dr. Morgan. Numbing cream is applied for 20 minutes before the procedure which makes it almost painless. During the treatment a skin care product or PRP (platelet rich plasma) harvested from your own blood is applied to boost your results. After the treatment you will be very red and you cannot wear makeup, go in the sun or do vigorous exercise for 2 days. Some people begin to peel 2-3 days after the treatment.

Microneedling is usually done in a series of 3 spaced 4-6 weeks apart. Then 1-2 treatments a year can be done for maintenance. If you have severe acne scars or very damaged skin more treatments may be needed. Between treatments, Dr. Morgan’s 20 % Vitamin C Serum and Retin-A cream is recommended to enhance your treatments.

Microneedling is not recommended for those who have a history of keloids, dark pigmentation after healing, active acne or other recent skin infection.
