THERMITight is a radiofrequency skin tightening treatment where a tiny probe is used to heat the undersurface of the skin to tighten it. It takes six weeks to see the final result. The goal for this treatment is moderate improvement, it does not replace surgery for very loose skin.
It can be used to:
- To tighten loose skin that is not so bad as to require surgery
- To tighten skin during or after liposuction
- To lift the breasts and neck
THERMITight can be done in the office or at the out-patient surgery center if combined with other procedures. Tiny incisions are made to inject numbing fluid (tumescent) under the skin. Once the skin is numb, the RF probe is inserted to heat the skin. Monitors show the probes position, treated areas, untreated areas and the temperature level. The procedure takes about 2 hours.
Post procedure pain is moderate to mild. The first day prescription pain medication may be needed. After that ibuprofen or acetaminophen should be fine. No exercise except walking for 5 days.
Repeated treatments are needed in areas where the skin is thick. These can be done 6 months apart.
